America, will you heed the call?

Isaiah 6 –
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple.  Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying.  And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”
At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke. “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”
Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with tongs from the altar.  With it he touched my mouth and said, “See, this has touched your lips; your guilt is taken away and your sin atoned for.” Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!”
He said,
“Go and tell this people:
“Be ever hearing, but never understanding; be ever seeing, but never perceiving. Make the heart of this people calloused; make their ears dull and close their eyes.  Otherwise, they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts, and turn and be healed.”

Then I said, “For how long, Lord?”
And he answered:
“Until the cities be wasted without inhabitant, until the houses are left deserted and the land be utterly desolate, ruined and ravaged, until the Lord has sent everyone far away and the land is utterly forsaken.  And though a tenth remains in the land, it will again be laid waste.  But, as the terebinth and oak leave stumps when they are cut down, so the holy seed will be the stump in the land.”

Isaiah responded to the call when the Lord asked, Whom shall I send?   Isaiah believed his nation was to be a Messianic Nation to the world.  A nation thru whom one day a great and wonderful blessing would come from God to all nations.

"And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor."

“And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.”

The forefathers of our great nation answered the call, believing America would be a blessing to all nations, too.  So much, they pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor to this belief.

*”And God blessed them with prosperity, power, security, peace and a place at the head of nations.  But, the people made a fatal mistake:  In the midst of their blessings, they turned away from God.  They would still, at times, invoke his name, but increasingly it rang hollow and meaningless.  They had made themselves strangers to the God of their fathers and their foundation.  And, as God was driven from their lives, they brought in foreign gods and idols to replace him – gods of sensuality, materialism, violence – idols of wealth, carnality and sexual promiscuity.  They abandoned the ways of God, the laws, the standards of God, for immorality.” (*Jonathan Cahn, author of “The Harbinger” and pastor/rabbi of Beth Israel.)

It seems, America, our great nation, is at a crossroad.  Will we, as a nation, continue down the path of internal destruction or answer the call to a higher and greater standard, God’s standard?  Is our light going out, no longer a beacon on the hill?  Will our great nation be found utterly forsaken, desolate and ruined by our own hands?

A very strong and powerful message was given by Jonathan Cahn at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast on January 21, 2013.  It is a message for the President, the leaders and the people of our nation.

If you haven’t had the opportunity to hear it, you can click the link below.  It will direct you to Mr. Cahn’s address to the Committee and members of Congress and all those who have ears to hear, listen and respond to the call.

About Bernadette

I am a widow/single mom excited about finding new adventure, even if it stretches my abilities. Daily, I am challenged by the wisdom of the Bible, Oswald Chambers’ devotionals and the “still small voice” of the Lord as He meets with me every morning. I have enjoyed lots of fun things with my kids and friends... ice fishing, scuba diving, traveling, sleeping in the rain forest with little critters, camping (even below zero weather), hiking, biking (250 mi. ride, the Royal Gorge-lovely), walking a tight rope (25 ft.), built/slept in a quinzhee. Yes, scouting can stretch one beyond belief when you're a mom. I enjoy outdoor activities, cycling and just recently, standup paddle boarding (it doesn’t hurt when you fall). I love Colorado, great place to live! I am discovering how much I love “words”… His Words. They are written on my heart and constantly on my mind. With much prayer and a humble heart, may the words I write be pleasing to Him. And He said unto them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature. Mark 16:15
